Pengertian Kompensasi

Menurut Drs. Malayu S.P. Hasibuan (2007 : 118) Kompensasi adalah semua pendapatan yang berbentuk uang, barang langsung atau tidak langsung yang diterima karyawan sebagai imbalan atas jasa yang diberikan kepada perusahaan.
Kompensasi berbentuk uang, artinya kompensasi dibayar dengan sejumlah uang kertal kepada karyawan bersangkutan.
Kompensasi berbentuk barang, artinya kompensasi dibayar dengan barang. Misalnya kompensasi dibayar 10% dari produksi yang dihasilkan.
Kompensasi dibedakan menjadi dua, yaitu kompensasi langsung (direct compensation) berupa gaji, upah dan upah insentif. Kompensasi tidak langsung (indirect compensation atau employee welvare atau kesejahteraan karyawan).

Terumbu Karang Terancam Rusak

Sekitar 30 persen terumbu karang di perairan Indonesia rusak parah. Kerusakan terparah terjadi di perairan laut Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) dan Papua. Namun pemerintah akan terus berupaya melakukan recovery dan melibatkan masyarakat sekitar dalam pengelolaan dan pemeliharaan terumbu karang itu agar dpat pulih kembali.
Keterlibatan masyarakat seperti yang kini terjadi di Bali sangat menguntungkan masyarakat sendiri terutama nelayan dan keluarga mereka. Nelayan dan anak-anak mereka di didik menjadi penyelam. Mereka lalu menjadi pemandu wisata bawah air bagi para turia terutama dari mancanegara.
Di dasar laut, para turis diajak untuk melihat terumbu karang dan terkadang diberi kesempatan untuk menuliskan namanya disalah satu baru karang, untuk kenang-kenangan.
Indonesia telah diminta dunia internasional untuk menyiapkan lahan konservasi sampai tahun 2020 sekitar 20 juta hektare.
Peran serta masyarakat sangat dominan terutama dalam pemeliharaan dan pengawasannya. Karena itu, diharapkan kepala daerah membuat untuk mengamankan daerah konservasi perairan laut tersebut. Dalam jangka panjang, kawasan perairan yang berhasil dipulihkan, selain menjadi kawasankonservasi juga menjadi kawasan ekonomi yang diintregrasikan dengan pariwisata.

FASILITAS INTERNET

Internet juga dikenal sebagai Net yaitu jaringan komputer terbesar di dunia. Jaringan komputer, pada dasarnya adalah sekumpulan komputer yang dihubungkan besama-sama. Menurut konsep, jaringan adalah semacam jaringan televisi atau radio yang menghubungkan sekumpulan stasiun televisi atau radio.
Internet adalah teknologi komunikasi baru yang mempengaruhi kehidupan kita dalam suatu skala yang sama pentingnya dengan telepon dan televisi. Jikakita memakai sebuah telepon, menulis surat-surat, membaca sebuah surat kabar atau majalah, atau menjalankan bisnis atau jenis penelitian, maka internet dapat mengubah keseluruhan pandangan dunia kita secara radikal.
Fasilitas-fasilitas yang ada ds internet adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Surat Elektronik (email)
Layanan ini paling banyak dipakai. Orang memakai email bisa digunakan untuk apa saja sebaigaimana mereka memakai telepon atau berkirim surat.
2. World Wide Web (www)
Web, menggabungkan teks, gambar-gambar, suara, dan dapat menambahkan animasiserta memungkinkan kita berpindah-pindah dengan hanya mengklik mouse kita. Site-site web yang baru tumbuh biasanya lebih cepat dan bermunculan.
3. Pemanggilan Informasi
Kebanyakan komputer mempunyai file-file informasi yang bebas untuk dibicarakan. Kita dapat menyaksikan icon-icon web disana-sini, icon ini menunjuk ke sumber-sumber yang dapat dipanggil sendiri di Net.
4. Buletin Board
Sebuah buletin board yang hebat yang terdistribusi dan online yang memiliki sekitar 700 juta karakter pesan pada lebih dari 12000 kelompok topikyang berbeda setiap harinya.
5. Games dan Gosip
Fasilitas game yang tersedia adalah bernama MUD (multi User Dungeon). Internet Relay Chat (IRC) adalah saluran di mana kita dapat melangsungkan percakapan dengan para pemakai lain diberbagai tempat.

PERAMALAN

Pengertian peramalan menurut Hery Prasetya dan Fitri Lukiastuti, Manajemen Operasi (2009:43) peramalan merupakan usaha untuk meramalkan keadaaan di masa mendatang melalui pengujian keadaan di masa lalu. Esensi Peramalan adalah perkiraan peristiwa-peristiwa di waktu yang akan datang atas dasar pola-pola di waktu yang lalu, dan penggunaan kebijakan terhadap proyeksi-proyeksi dengan pola-pola di waktu yang lalu. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan melibatkan pengambilan data masa lalu dan menempatkan ke masa yang akan datang.
Menurut Freddy Rangkuti (2008 : 61) peramalan adalah merupakan alat yang sangat penting dalam membuat estimasi berapa besarnya permintaan (demand).
Jay Heizer dan Barry Render (2006 : 136) Peramalan (forecasting) adalah seni untuk memperkirakan kejadian di masa depan. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan melibatkan pengambilan data di masa lalu dan menempatkannya ke masa yang akan datang dengan bentuk model matematis. Bisa juga merupakan prediksi intuisi yang bersifat subjektif.
Dari ketiga pengertian di atas, maka yang dimaksud dengan peramalan adalah suatu usaha untuk meramalkan kejadian di masa yang akan datang dengan melibatkan pengambilan data di masa lalu dan menempatkannya di masa yang akan datang untuk mengetahui seberapa besar permintaan.

Making Paper from Woodchips

Do you have any paper in your bag? It may seem like a silly question but do you know how to make paper? What is paper made of? Right. And how about wood chipping? Have you ever heard about it? Well, wood chipping is a process used to obtain pulp and paper products from fores trees.

First of all, the tops and branches of the tress are cut out and then the logs are taken to the mill. At the mill the bark of the logs is removed and the logs are taken to a chipper which cuts them into small pieces called woodchips. The woodchips are then screened to remove dirt and other impurities. Hmm,... at this stage they are either exported in this form or changed into the pulp by chemicals and heat. I almost forgot, the pulp is then bleachead and the water content is removed. Finally, the pulp is rolled out to make paper.

The Controversy of Harnessing Solar Energy

We often hear about solar cars, solar heating, and solar batteries. But will solar energy ever be a major source of energy for society?

Solar energy is cheaper than other fossil fuels because we can get an abundant source from the sun. In sunny desert areas, 50% of the sun's radiation that reaches the ground could be used to produce electricity for businesses and industry and to provide heat, light, and hot water for homes. Experimental solar pond can also produce hot water to drive generators.

Unfortunately, we can't yet power our homes entirely on sunlight. Solar energy can only be used effectively in bright light. Its greates potencial therefore is in hot countries that have clear skies for most of the year. But Unfortunately most houses solar power solar cells are need to convert sunlight directly into electricity. Solar cells are very cheap to run, but relatively expensive to buy and many people can't afford them.

Needless to say, solar energy is a useful and non-pollution source of energy. Unfortunately, solar cells, the main device to harness the sun's energy are still very expensive.

Credit cards have many advantages as a means of payment. The most practical benefit of these magical plastic cards are that the cardholders don't need to carry cash. Our credit cards enable us to get cash in advence from an authorized bank or from an ATM. Yet, with all their benefits, having a credit card involves some risks.

It is likely to happen that cardholder tend to spend more money than he or she should, or can afford to. Cards come in handy when we busy on impulse. With a credit card, we can pay for things in an emergency without having to wait for our end-of-month paycheck.

Who isn't lured by the "buy-now-pay-latter" concept? Actually, when you use a credit card, you buy on credit, which means that you have to pay interest. And like all other bank loans, your debts will swiftly add up if you fail to make the regular mouthly payments.

The Advantages and The Disadvantages of Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy is commonly offered as an alternative to overcome the crisis of energy. The debate of whether the use of nuclear energy is an appropriate choice has not come to an end. Some people agree with the untilization of it because of its benefits. Some other, however, disagree because of its risks to the environment.
Those who agree with the operation of nuclear reactors usually argue that nuclear is the only feasible choice to answer the ever-increasing energu needs. In their opinion, the order sources of energy: oil, coal, and liquid natural gas are not renewble and safe, while nuclear energy can be sustainably when produced in a safe way.
However, people who disagree with the use of nuclear energy point out that the waste of nuclear products can completely destroy the environment and the human lives. A meltdown in a reactor, for example, usually results in the contamination of the surrounding soil and water. Take for example, the blow up of the nuclear reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in Rusia twenty years ago. The serious contamination imperiled people and the environment severely.
It is obvious that nuclear energy should be avoided because it really endangers the environment but what about a less pollured energy instead of nuclear.

TSUNAMI

Tsunamis occur when a major fault under the ocean floor suddenly slips. The displaced rock pushes water above it like a giant paddle, producing powerful water waves at the ocean surface. The ocean waves spread out from the vicinity of the earthquake source and move across the ocean until they reach the coastline, where their height increases as they reach the continental shelf, the part of the Earth's crust that slopes, or rises, from the ocean floor up to the land.

Thunamis wash ashore with often disastrous effects such as severe flooding, loss of lives due to drowning, and damage to property. A tsunami is a very large sea wave that is generated by a disturbance along the ocean floor. This disturbance can be an earthquake, a landslide, or a volcanic eruption. A tsumani is undetectable far out in the ocean, but once it reaches shallow water, this fast-traveling wave grows very large.

Hati-hati Bergurau dan Tertawa

Banyak bergurau bisa menyebabkan pelecehan seseorang yang bisa menimbulkan permusuhan. Banyak bergurau akan menyebabkan hilangnya kewibawaan dan akan membuat orang-orang bodoh dan kurang ajar menjadi berani kepada anda. Orang yang berakal akan selalu menjauhinya. Sebenarnya gurauan itu adalah cacian, hanya saja orang melakukannya sambil tertawa sehingga tidak tau mana yang bercanda dan mana yang tidak bercanda.

Bergurau bisa berdampak baik dan berdampak buruk. Bergurau yang berdampak baik yaitu bisa mempererat persaudaraan dan bisa menghilangkan kejenuhan. Sedangkan keterlaluan dalam bergurau akan menimbulkan keburukan dan akan membuat kemarahan atau perselisihan.

Begitu juga dalam tertawa akan membuat anda lalai dan tidak mempunyai kepekaan maka kewibawaan anda akan hilang.
